Catfishing Competition Thai Style

Yesterday I was driving around my local area ( we are building a House at Doi Saket ) and as usual I had one eye open for potential fishing spots, there are literally 1000’s around the Chiang Mai Area.

When I came across a local Thai style catfishing competition, the most amazing thing was how small the water hole was that all these guys where fishing in, it was tiny but prestocked and the water was literally boiling with catfish.

Apparently the winner is the one with the most fish by weight, they where pulling these things in like commercial tuna fisherman.

The largest fish I saw caught and weighed was 5.5kgs I dont know what the species of catfish was so if anyone knows I would be grateful.
